Depending on type of Sonography performed, the following specialties apply: Abdomen, Breast, Fetal Echocardiography, Neuro onology,Obstetrics and Gynecology, Adult Echocardiography, Pediatric Echocardiography, Vascular Technology, or Musculoskeletal Sonography.Experience: One year experience in Sonography, preferred. Licensure/Certification/Registration: ARRT and/or ARDMS certified or Board eligible, required.ARDMS certified within 1st year of employment, required.Additional Skills Required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing; good communication skills, capable of functioning alone in diagnostic rooms; working knowledge of various types of x-ray equipment, able to adapt to new and various situations and procedures according to age of patient served. Has ability to interpret information to identify eachpatient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. What You'll Do: Perform high-quality ultrasound imaging and provide procedural support in collaboration with physiciansIndependently complete detailed ultrasounds, using appropriate imaging techniques to ensure accuracy and diagnostic valueAssist physicians with ultrasound guidance during procedures and other diagnostic interventionsReview images for quality and accuracy and repeat or adjust studies as neededDocument patient history, clinical information, imaging results, and procedural details accurately in the EMRCommunicate significant findings and observations promptly to providersPrepare exam rooms, stock supplies, and clean and disinfect probes and equipment in accordance with infection prevention and compliance standardsExplain procedures clearly, provide compassionate support, and help create a calm, reassuring patient experienceCollaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and team members to support efficient clinic operations and quality careParticipate in training, staff meetings, and improvement efforts while modeling professionalism, flexibility, and organizational values
