Overview: GovCIO is currently seeking a Senior Linux Administrator to support the installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Linux based systems in support of 616th Operations Center (616 OC) operations. This position will be located in San Antonio, TX and will be an onsite position. Responsibilities: Manages and maintains Linux-based systems and servers. Primary duties include installing, configuring, updating, and hardening Linux operations systems and software applications. Ensures system security by implementing appropriate measures, such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems, and by regularly applying security patches. The Linux administrator also works closely with the VMWare VCenter administrator and the VMWare Horizon Administrator to support Linux platforms that host critical VMWare applications and services. Additionally, the Linux administrator creates Ansible scripts that automate routine tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual workload.
