Job Summary and Qualifications Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor of MRI, the MRI Technologist is responsible for the provision of MRI services to patients according to physicians' orders. Provides for patient safety and high quality testing. What you will do in this role:Assists in the maintenance of all equipment in the department, including cleaning and minor repairs. Facilitates departmental operations through completion of all patient logs, charge requisitions, and other paperwork either through the computer system or on a manual system. Maintains safety precautions to minimize radiation exposure to patients, other personnel, and self. Collects data as requested and participates in performance improvement activities. Participates in rotating call system to provide continuous availability of services. Performs other related duties as assigned. Prepares patients appropriately for MRI procedures as prescribed by patients' physician and Radiologist. Performs MRI examinations and assists in procedures in other areas of the department when necessary. Able to recognize and report incidents including both dangerous and non-threatening situations. Maintains current knowledge of diagnostic procedures performed in the Radiology Department including routine roentgenographic procedures and fluoroscopy. Possesses basic knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy. Possesses basic knowledge of management techniques required to provide supervision for other radiology personnel related to position responsibilities. Possesses basic knowledge of MRI equipment functioning to provide for minor repair and troubleshooting for problems. Proficient in the utilization of all radiological equipment in the department. Utilizes communication skills effectively in working with patients, physicians, and other personnel.  What qualifications you will need:Certificate must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date(ARMRIT) American Registry of MRI Technologists, or (ARRT-MR) Magnetic Resonance Imaging, or (RT) Radiologic Technologist/Radiographer, or (ARRT-R) Radiography must be obtained within 6 months of employment start dateBasic Cardiac Life Support, or CPR must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date No Travel Required No experience Required Years of Experience Benefits Texas Orthopedic Hospital, offers a total rewards package that supports the health, life, career and retirement of our colleagues.
