We are seeking an experienced Cook/Pit Master to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality barbecue and grilled items, maintaining food safety standards, and contributing to a positive team environment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESFood Preparation & CookingOperate and maintain open pit Barbeque and other cooking equipmentPrepare meats using specific barbecue techniques including grilling.Monitor cooking temperatures and times to ensure food safety and qualityPrepare sides, sauces, and accompaniments according to recipes and specificationsMaintain consistent food quality and presentation standardsFood Safety & SanitationFollow all food safety protocols and health department regulationsMaintain proper food storage temperatures and rotation proceduresClean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils regularlyComplete daily temperature logs and food safety checklistsKitchen OperationsAssist with inventory management and stock rotationHandle prep work during slower periodsCollaborate with kitchen team to ensure timely serviceMaintain organized and efficient workspaceQUALIFICATIONSRequired2+ years cooking experience, preferably in barbecue/grillingKnowledge of food safety regulations and proper cooking temperaturesAbility to work in hot, fast-paced environmentStrong attention to detail and quality standardsReliable and punctual attendanceAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periodsPreferredOpen pit barbecue experienceKnowledge of different barbeque techniquesPrevious experience with large-volume food preparationFood safety certificationPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to stand for 8+ hoursFrequent lifting, carrying, and moving of supplies and equipmentWork in high-temperature environment near open pit barbequeManual dexterity for food preparation and equipment operationSCHEDULE8:30am to 5:00pm Wednesday through SundayCompetitive wages based on experience.
