Job DescriptionDo you like to solve complex business problems leveraging the latest technology?Do you enjoy helping others?The Analytics Engineering team is currently looking for an exceptional engineer to join our team in one of our CVS Locations. This manager role is an opportunity to join the analytics engineering team working on projects that will shape the future of the organization. The immediate need will be to join our team supporting the Attain product. Attain is a mobile app made for our members to help them lead a happier and healthier life. The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver with a team first mentality that can be hands on as needed. Prior coding experience is a must. Their experience will also consist of 3+ years managing engineering teams designing, developing, and deploying analytics-based products and services. They will have a demonstrated ability to communicate advanced technical concepts to broad audiences and an ability create self-managed teams. Background/Experience: Provides leadership (clear objectives, support, coaching, performance evaluations, etc.) to an engineering team while also working with them hands on to build architecture runway other engineering deliverables. Architects complex and large-scale data structures and pipelines to organize, collect and standardize data for Data Science teams and applications. Drive standardization and maturation of process and methods (both manual and automated) to ensure the highest level of Quality and Reliability is consistently delivered. Engage in early development activities while working with cross-functional internal teams and external vendors to solution for features and develop testing strategies (tools, data, people, process). Work with other engineering teams and DevSecOps teams to ensure CI/CD pipelines have automated testing best practices built in and that information from those tools can reported and used to continually improve. Experience with a wide breadth of data and analytics technology across on prem implementations and cloud-based providers. (S3, SQS, MSK, RDS, BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataprod, Hadoop, Hive, SQL Server, MongoDB, etc.) Provides code reviews as needed. Experiments with available tools and advises on new tools in order to determine optimal solution given the requirements dictated by the model/use case. Mature test environment capabilities and align those environments to support end to end testing with other engineering teams, both internal and external. Develop and implement issue management processes to address problems based on business impact that maximize the effectiveness of the team. Hold sprint ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Reviews and Sprint Retros. Work with Product Management to ensure sufficient level of Epic and Story details. Remove barriers and shields the team from outside influences that will impact sprint deliverables. Admin communication tools (SharePoint, MS Teams), Agile Delivery (Jira)Required Qualifications 3+ years directly managing an engineering team that has both internal and external stakeholders and worked in an Agile methodology. 3+ years leading solutioning for hybrid on-prem and cloud-based technology solutions. 7+ years hands on engineering experience with data processing frameworks (both batch and streaming) and developing data marts. Advanced SQL and some NoSQL is a must. Some portion of this experience must be with pub/sub architectures and semi-structured data. 7+ years hands on engineering experience with Linux based operating systems and related technology stacks.
