Job DescriptionCaremark LLC, a CVS Health company, is hiring for the following role in New York, NY: Advisor, Data Scientist to formulate and apply mathematical and computational modeling methods toward data extraction and manipulation. Duties include: Query large databases both relational like Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, and data lakes like on-prem Hadoop or cloud technologies to query and understand data; develop sound analytic plans based on available data sources, business partner needs, and required timelines; responsible for leading buildout of analytic solutions, including insight generation and reporting development aimed at measuring and improving performance of innovative programs targeted at improving patient outcomes as well as efficiency; responsible for coordination of critical cross-functional analytic initiatives aimed at supporting growth of blue-chip projects; collaborate with business partners from Front Store, Pharmacy, Minute Clinic, Health Services, Transformation teams as well as the data engineering and data science teams to develop effective solutions for our partners; apply innovative approaches to understand and predict what will happen across the business; select several potential appropriate modeling approaches for a given analytic problem; manage deliverables across multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment and project related to a wide variety of business settings and clinical needs; consult with key internal and external stakeholders to determine how best to leverage machine learning and/or advanced analytic methods to support business objectives; present the analytic findings in a variety of formats (reports, PPT, graphs, figures and tables), formulating recommendations, and effectively communicate the results to non-analytic audiences; support existing analytical work products and updating them based on various enterprises IT initiatives such as database migration, member/ client platform migrations and source system migration/consolidations; process multi-terabyte data and develop insights using Palantir Foundry tools, including SparkSQL, PySpark, SparkML, and Python; implement complex business logic using Palantir functions to generate real time insights; develop highly interactive dashboards and applications using Palantir visualization tools such as Workshop, Contour, Quiver and Carbon; and develop and maintain unified schematic object layer using Palantir Ontology management tool.Required QualificationsMaster's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in each of the following: Building machine-learning algorithms; using SQL to query relational databases; Python and R programming languages; Tableau dashboards; and Teradata SQL.Preferred QualificationsSee Required Qualifications.EducationSee Required Qualifications.Business OverviewBring your heart to CVS Health Every one of us at CVS Health shares a single, clear purpose: Bringing our heart to every moment of your health.
