You will provide therapeutic exercises, gait and balance training, transfer and mobility training, and patient and family education. You will collaborate closely with nursing, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and social services, and you may participate in interdisciplinary care conferences to update goals and discharge planning.Treatment is generally provided in a dedicated therapy gym with access to standard rehab equipment and assistive devices, as well as in patient rooms and functional areas throughout the facility to simulate real-life tasks. Patient ratios are structured to allow for meaningful one-on-one time, thorough assessments, and high-quality documentation while maintaining a manageable daily caseload appropriate for a skilled nursing environment.Physical Therapists in this setting typically work full-time schedules with daytime hours and the potential for some weekend or holiday rotation to support consistent patient care.
