Job Description

This is a full time position with GNS Electric Inc.The Field Operations Coordinator supports the Operations Manager by providing consistent field oversight across active projects. This role conducts regular jobsite walks, verifies progress against project plans and schedules, monitors labor and material performance, and collaborates closely with Project Managers and field leadership.The Field Operations Coordinator functions as an early-warning system for the organization by identifying risks, gaps, inefficiencies, and cost drivers before they escalate into schedule delays or budget overruns. This position plays a critical role in promoting safe, efficient, and accountable field execution.Key ResponsibilitiesField Oversight and Job WalksConduct daily or scheduled jobsite walks across active projectsVerify completed work against project plans and schedulesReview current General Contractor schedules and compare them to baseline contract schedulesConfirm project compliance with the most recent GC schedule through field verificationWhen projects are not in compliance, coordinate with the General Superintendent and field leadership to support development of recovery schedulesObserve workmanship quality, site readiness, and crew productivityDocument field observations using photos and concise written notesConfirm crews have required materials, tools, drawings, and information to perform assigned workBudget and Cost Performance SupportConfirm Project Managers have established labor tracking metrics aligned with approved budgetsReview daily labor tracking reports from the fieldTrack labor usage and field conditions impacting job costsIdentify labor overruns, rework, inefficiencies, and productivity concerns earlyReview hours expended versus percent complete with Project ManagersRecommend corrective actions to help maintain budget controlIdentify and flag potential scope creep and change conditionsCoordination With Project ManagersPartner with Project Managers to support execution plans and field operationsProvide regular field status updates related to progress, constraints, and risksAssist in validating field impacts related to scope changes, delays, or disruptionsSupport project closeout readiness, punch list execution, and final field coordinationIssue Identification and ResolutionIdentify material shortages, missing information, and trade conflictsEscalate critical risks and issues promptly to the Operations Manager and OwnerAssist with practical, field-focused solutions to keep work progressingQuality and Safety SupportPromote company quality standards and safe work practicesObserve, document, and report safety concerns to field leadershipSupport consistent safety and quality standards across multiple jobsitesReporting and DocumentationMaintain daily or weekly job walk summaries as requiredProvide clear documentation of risks, trends, and corrective actionsSupport accurate project records through photos, notes, and field reportsContinuous ImprovementIdentify recurring field challenges and opportunities for process improvementSupport training and onboarding efforts by reinforcing company field standardsAuthority and Decision RightsAuthorized to identify and report budget risks, productivity concerns, and scope issuesAuthorized to recommend corrective actions to Project Managers, Operations Manager, and OwnerAuthorized to coordinate field information and request clarificationsNot authorized to approve change orders, commit company funds, or direct disciplinary action unless expressly delegatedPerformance MeasuresReduction in unexpected project cost overrunsEarly identification and mitigation of labor and productivity risksImproved field readiness and coordinationConsistent, accurate, and timely reporting to Operations, Ownership, and Project ManagementWork Environment and Physical RequirementsThis position is primarily field-based and requires frequent travel between jobsites. The role requires the ability to walk active construction sites, climb stairs and ladders as needed, work in varying weather conditions, and comply with all company safety policies and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.RequirementsRequired QualificationsMinimum of 3 years of experience in construction operations, field supervision, or project coordinationStrong understanding of jobsite workflow, sequencing, and field operationsAbility to read and interpret drawings, specifications, schedules, and scopes of workWorking knowledge of labor productivity and job cost driversStrong written, verbal, and organizational communication skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting job cost tracking and budget reviewsFamiliarity with estimating or job costing softwareOSHA 10, OSHA 30, or equivalent safety trainingExperience coordinating multiple active jobsites simultaneouslySalary Description $185-200k/yr
