**Job Description** The Engineering, Science and Analysis (ESA) Strategic Capabilities Unit comprises the technical talent and organizational leadership that enables the successful delivery of high-impact discriminating technologies for our customers missions. Our collaborative, cross-functional teams are committed to innovation, integrity, continual learning and strong execution. **What You ll Do:** + Provide leadership of technical and operational teams to define and operate architectures for complex systems including spacecraft, instruments, ground, and missions + Provide technical and contractual oversight of subcontract partners + Monitor/evaluate subcontractor performance and support supply chain in administering contracts + Support programs in executing and meeting customer requirements + Manage cost/schedule/scope and maintain program s ability to meet mission + Interface with customer and implement continuous improvements to ensure mission success + Support management reviews, including required LCM reporting through appropriate SBU leadership chains + Objectively define, execute, and report on trade studies that provide data for decision making to our customers + Develop metrics to evaluate concepts that represent mission utility for the customer + Mentor other leaders, operators, and engineers + Prepare and give presentations to peers/management/customers + Provide technical and operational leadership and direction by exhibiting behaviors that would include a unifying vision, understanding the needs of our SBUs, and acting with humility and a collaborative spirit. + Support cross-enterprise communication and collaboration to provide best practices and institutional knowledge to all pursuits. + Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with Engineering and Business peers, internal stakeholders, and external customers. + Evolve cross-sector relationships and technical capabilities with other BAE Systems SMS groups. + Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule. + Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment. + Perform other duties as necessary. **On-Site Work Environment:** This position requires regular in-person engagement by working **on-site five days** each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required. **Working Conditions:** + Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment. + May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required. + May access other facilities in various weather conditions. **Short Term Incentive:** Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** + BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 10 or more years related experience. + Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education. + A current, active Secret security clearance is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Polygraph. + Experience in leadership and military Air Force, Space Force, or IC operations floor management. + Satellite Command & Control with anomaly resolution experience. + Deep understanding of Joint Military Operations. + Experience with leadership in Ground Segment Integration. + Ability to foster a culture of collaboration across teams (company, partner, customer). + Define and refine internal processes and procedures in alignment with customer needs. Provide internal BAE Systems Space and Mission Systems (SMS) team training to ensure alignment with standard operating procedures. + Customer Relationships: Extensive knowledge of missions and customers across core technologies areas. Knowledge/experience working with critical customer base, established relationships with key personnel within customer community. + Excellent communication and listening skills. + Experience in space-based systems engineering or ground-based systems engineering. + Ability to be self-motivated and detail oriented. + Possess critical thinking skills. + Comfortable interacting with colleagues at all levels of the organization. + Comfortable operating at a fast pace. + Organizational skills. + Budgeting/cost estimating experience. + Excellent customer service, accountability, professionalism, and interpersonal skill set. /#LI-NP1 **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $149603 - $254317 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
