Fleet Safety/ Compliance CoordinatorReports To: Sr. Safety ManagerLocation: Jessup, MDJob SummaryThe Fleet Safety/Compliance Analyst is responsible for ensuring that the company's fleet operations comply with all applicable Department of Transportation (DOT), FMCSA, and state regulations. This role is critical to maintaining safe, legal, and efficient transportation of products, protecting the company's operating authority, and supporting drivers and management through effective compliance programs.Days: Monday- Friday 8AM-5PM Salary:$55-$60KKey Responsibilities• Ensure full compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and state transportation regulations• Maintain driver qualification files (DQFs), including licenses, medical certificates, MVRs, and training records• Monitor and manage Hours of Service (HOS) compliance using electronic logging devices (ELDs)• Oversee drug and alcohol testing programs (pre-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion)• Coordinate vehicle inspections, maintenance records, and compliance with DOT equipment standards• Conduct internal audits to identify compliance gaps and implement corrective actions• Prepare for and manage DOT audits, inspections, and roadside compliance reviews• Track and investigate accidents, incidents, and violations; prepare required reports• Provide compliance training and ongoing support to drivers, dispatchers, and management• Stay current on changes in DOT and FMCSA regulations and communicate updates internally• Collaborate with operations and HR to ensure compliance is integrated into hiring and daily operations• Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with retention requirementsQualifications• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred• 2+ years of experience in DOT compliance, fleet safety, or transportation compliance• Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, HOS rules, and DOT recordkeeping requirements• Experience working with ELD systems and DOT compliance software• Familiarity with food distribution or temperature-controlled logistics is a plus• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion• Proficient in Microsoft Office and compliance management systemsPhysical & Work Environment Requirements• Primarily office-based with occasional visits to warehouses, yards, or terminals• Ability to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods• Occasional after-hours availability for audits, incidents, or regulatory deadlinesWhy Join Us• Competitive compensation and benefits package• Opportunity to play a key role in safety, compliance, and operational excellence• Collaborative and supportive work environment
