Visa sponsorship is not available)Work Location: Onsite - Bridgeport, WVJob Overview:Function as a proficient environmental and regulatory specialist working on permitting and compliance issues for Company operations. Assist with research and review and analysis of new/proposed environmental rules and regulations. Plan and provide expertise, consultation, review progress, and evaluate results on projects and programs involving engineering, permitting, and auditing to ensure compliance. Implement and administer Environmental Compliance programs, assist in securing and renewing permits and licenses, and work on matters that are moderately complex and varied. Under general supervision, provide technical support, assessment, and execution of Company environmental programs and policies. Essential Job Responsibilities:• Preparation and review of federal, state and local environmental permit applications and related plans/documents. Assist with developing options for permitting projects and present to stakeholders within the organization.• Provide technical support and compliance assurance of applicable federal, state, and local environmental and administrative permits and regulations. Ensure compliance requirements are met within regulatory timeframes. • Foster and develop relationships with regulatory agencies clarifying existing, proposed and pending regulations. • Assist with organizing and maintaining applicable records within the HSSE recordkeeping system. • Provide technical support for environmental incident and complaint response. • Provide technical support for environmental remedial investigations. • Implement compliance solutions, including but not limited to HSSE software, GIS integration, and server structure. • Perform in-depth environmental reviews to facilitate compliance with applicable regulations to minimize risk and liability for the Company. • Research non-compliant conditions and assists others in preparing responses to regulatory agency inspection concerns, internal findings, and recommendations. • Remain current on new regulations and legislation as promulgated and assists facilities in securing new permits and making necessary modifications to procedures, processes or operations to comply. • Occasionally participate on work groups and may act as coordinator or technical consultant on small to medium projects. Required Education, Experience, Licensure• Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field of study. • Five (5) years of progressive, relevant technical experience. • Possess valid driver's license and clean driving record (MVR) that meet Company's Insurance qualifications to operate Company vehicle.Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure• Five (5) or more years of progressive, relevant technical experience. • Five (5) years of Environmental or Oil & Gas experience.• Five (5) years of industry specific or relevant technical experience with Health & Safety.Required Core Competencies - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities• Possess knowledge and exercises judgment related to application of fundamental environmental program theories, techniques, concepts, procedures, and practices. • Possess intermediate knowledge of Environmental theories and principles and applies it in creative and effective ways for simple to medium complex assignments. • Working knowledge of Federal, State, and Local regulations regarding the CWA Section 404 and 401, USACOE, USFWS, SHPO, SPCC, NPDES, the Clean Air Act, and Hazardous and Solid waste. • Intermediate knowledge of operations to support permit and compliance performance.• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including MS Outlook, Excel, Word, etc. and use/operation of standard office equipment.• Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to converse with staff, management, contractors, and operations using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques.• Self-motivated and assertive that is comfortable in open discussion with personality ranges from field hand to construction and design groups.• Ability to be detail-oriented, set priorities, monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data, information, activities, etc.• Good time management and organizational skills to meet set deadlines.• Ability to safely operate vehicles, equipment, and tools.• Able to recognize and apply safety processes and procedures. Work EnvironmentThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.• Job is performed in the office and in the field supporting operations. This position may be subject to: • Exposure to computer screens and requires regular use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. • Extreme cold and heat: temperatures typically below 32o F or above 100o F for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions as wind, rain, snow, and humidity.• Noise: there is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.• Hazards: includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to chemicals. Physical Demands• The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. • The employee will minimally lift, push, carry and/or move up to 50 pounds. • Frequent amount of traversing through challenging terrain to evaluate project sites, conditions, manually inspect slopes or perform work.Travel Requirements• Occasional travel may be required to other locations. • Regular travel to Company's field operations. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
