Apply Job Type Full-time Description Davis & Floyd is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Highway Inspector. Responsibilities * Responsible for necessary inspection services for earthwork and base, asphalt, foundations, concrete, structures, erosion, and other construction related items * Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with colleagues and client representatives * Ensure that all new construction is completed in accordance with plans, specifications, special provisions, standard drawings, and approved materials lists * Ensure that all construction projects are properly inspected * Prepare daily inspection and contractor performance reports * Perform field checks on all preliminary plans to assure completeness * Ensure that design and construction is in accordance with the client's concerns and permit requirements * Monitor contractor's schedule * Compile closing packages * Record as-built revisions and review with contractor * Adheres to all safety guidelines required of the job Requirements * 0-3 years of experience preferred * SCDOT project experience preferred * Valid driver's license required * Minimal lifting, bending, and standing required * Certifications preferred: o American Concrete Institute Field Technician - Grade 1 (ACI) o SCDOT Asphalt Roadway Technician (ART) o SCDOT Portland Cement Concrete Field Technician o SCDOT Foundations Technician o SCDOT Earthwork, Drainage & Base Inspector o SCDHEC Certified Erosion Prevention & Sediment Control Inspector
