Irving group of companiesRelocation costs (if applicable)ResponsibilitiesAs the Shipment Coordinator, your primary responsibilities include managing the logistics flow for the site to service customer orders and operational needs at minimal cost. This includes coordinating dock scheduling, optimizing trailer utilization, and monitoring shipping, receiving, and storage activities to ensure safe, accurate, and timely logistics operations.Manage dock scheduling to optimize the flow of inbound and outbound activity.Expedite and reschedule late loads while maintaining communication with transportation providers.Adjust and manage trailer pools to ensure equipment availability and efficiency.Coordinate on shift quality hold processes and act as liaison between crew leaders, logistics teams, and AWS inventory control processes.Perform computer system transactions to accurately reflect shipping and receiving activities.Ensure all pallets are properly scanned and matched to the correct dock door.Verify trailer seals against Bills of Lading (BOL) for security and tracking accuracyMaintain familiarity with freight handling standards and trailer security requirements.Inspect trailers for structural integrity, cleanliness, and safety compliance before loading/unloading.QualificationsEducation: Minimum: High School Diploma or GED, Associate Degree preferredExperience: Years of Experience Required: 2-5 years, preferably in logistics, warehousing, distribution, transportation, or supply chain Comprehensive computer skills; fluent in Microsoft Office applications; JD Edwards or One World experience is preferred Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment is a MUST Must have a strong understanding of systems and business processes Must be comfortable taking the initiative to develop permanent solutions to problems Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills Ability to work with internal and external customers/suppliers Strong work ethic with a high level of commitment and self-motivation Positive team player with a focus on problem-solving and working with others to achieve goals This position works a 12-hour rotating shiftAbout UsFounded in 1882, J.D.
