We are seeking to add a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Transportation Project Engineer to join our growing team. As a Senior Transportation Project Engineer, you'll play a key role in delivering complex, multidisciplinary infrastructure projects. You'll have the opportunity to oversee every phase, from conceptual planning to final design and construction support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil and highway engineering, familiarity with DOT standards, and a passion for designing safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation systems. In addition to technical responsibilities, this role includes mentoring and supporting junior engineering staff, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth within the team.Responsibilities:Prepare and steer the design of highway and roadway projects, including geometric design, grading, drainage, traffic control, and pavement designDevelop and review engineering plans, specifications, and technical reportsEnsure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal transportation design standards (AASHTO, FHWA, ConnDOT/RIDOT/MassDOT guidelines)Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including structural, traffic, environmental, and structural engineersProvide technical support during project development, permitting, bidding, and construction phasesManage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables under the guidance of a project managerTrack project milestones and assist in maintaining budgets and schedulesCoordinate with clients, agencies, and stakeholders; represent BETA while attending project meetings and public presentationsAssist with proposal development and business development initiatives as neededMentor junior staff and support quality assurance/quality control effortsPreferred location is BETA's Worcester, MA office. Candidates should have flexibility to work from our other office locations.
