Candidates must be willing to relocate to Alabama if out of state. What you'll be doing:Assist with preparation of technical reports for traffic impact studies, interchange access requests, or safety studiesAssist with development of traffic impact studies, land use planning, master plan studies, traffic signal warrant studies, bikeway planning and design, community and campus planning, technical report writingWork on temporary traffic control plan/traffic management plan (TMP) and signing, pavement marking plansWork on traffic signal design plans for new intersections and signal modifications to facilitate multimodal accommodationsAssist in preparing conceptual intersection layouts, schematics, signal timings and engineering reportsAssist with and prepare roadway design plansAttend project meetings with clientsLearn project budgets to meet financial metricsPotential to learn and participate in business development activitiesPerforms other duties as assignedWhat you need to have:BS in Civil EngineeringRecent college graduates encouraged to applyEIT (E.I) Certification is desired but not required 0 - 4 years of experienceExperience with transportation planning, including comprehensive corridor analysis, local programs, public involvement, safety and access, pedestrian and bicycle planning, multimodal planning and traffic operations are desired but not requiredFamiliarity with DOT traffic design standards, MUTCD and AASHTOFamiliarity with traffic analyses software such as VISSIM, Synchro/Simtraffic, Sidra Intersection, HCS are desired but not requiredFamiliarity with OpenRoads Designer is desired but not requiredSelf-starter and capable of completing tasks with minimal oversightAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and writtenWillingness and motivation to curate and eventually develop personal client baseAbility to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
