This role serves as a servant leader and coordinator across multiple teams, driving Program Increment (PI) planning, managing dependencies, and ensuring consistent delivery of value.The RTE will work closely with technical and program leadership to maintain execution rhythm, remove impediments, and continuously improve Agile processes in a disciplined engineering environment.Key ResponsibilitiesFacilitate Program Increment (PI) planning and ensure readiness across the release trainLead Agile Release Train (ART) ceremonies including Scrum of Scrums and system demosTrack and report on program health, performance, and flow metricsIdentify, manage, and resolve risks and cross-team dependenciesEscalate and track blockers; coordinate with leadership to drive resolutionPartner with technical and program leadership to refine processes and improve executionGuide and mentor Scrum Masters across the release trainEnsure alignment across teams to support continuous delivery and mission objectivesBasic QualificationsBachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) with 7-9+ years of relevant experienceExperience in software or project engineering within the defense industryStrong experience with Agile Lifecycle Management tools (Jira, VersionOne, Rally, etc.)Demonstrated ability to prioritize and focus on high-value outcomesStrong communication skills across technical and leadership audiencesFamiliarity with full product and release lifecycle (requirements through retirement)Experience decomposing features into user storiesWorking knowledge of Git and Git-based repositories (GitLab, Bitbucket, etc.)Ability to apply Agile practices within a structured engineering environmentActive, in-scope DoD Secret clearancePreferred QualificationsSAFe certification (RTE, SASM, or SSM)Experience leading PI planning, Scrum of Scrums, and system demosExposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practicesExperience with ATDD or BDDBackground in SAFe, Lean, Kanban, or IPT-based program environmentsActive Top Secret clearanceWhat Success Looks LikePI events run on time, with strong participation and clear outcomesRisks and dependencies are identified early and actively managedART metrics reflect predictable, improving delivery performanceTeams operate with minimal blockers and strong cross-team coordinationAgile practices are consistently applied within a disciplined program structurea resume scoring rubric for RTE candidatesor a "red flags" checklist specific to this role (which would actually be really useful given how many fake Agile leads are out there)
