Job Description

TCOM is seeking a Shipping and Transportation Supervisor to plan, direct, and coordinate all CONUS and OCONUS shipping and transportation operations across the organization. This role oversees shipments to and from TCOM locations as well as internal transfers between sites. The Manager will establish and execute training and certification programs for logistics personnel, including shipping and hazardous materials (HazMat) compliance.The position requires strategic oversight of policies, operational planning, resource allocation, and execution of logistics activities across multiple locations. This role reports to the Purchasing Department and ensures that all logistics operations meet regulatory, customer, and company standards. Key Responsibilities: Operations Plan, coordinate, and direct the end-to-end movement of goods across borders, focusing on customs compliance, documentation (BOLs, invoices), and coordination with carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics teams Packaging optimization and planning for shipment(s); prepare packing plans that help maximize space utilization, protect product and meet contractual and regulatory requirements. Prepare and process complex export/import documentation (e.g., Commercial Invoices, Certificates of Origin, Bills of Lading) in compliance with international regulations. Track and trace international shipments, proactively troubleshooting delays or disruptions. Ensure goods are packaged according to international standards (e.g., packing lists, specialized labeling, hazardous materials regulations) Update logistics tracking systems and ERP software (e.g., Costpoint, Microsoft, Sharepoint) with accurate shipment data.Supplier & Customer Relations Develop and maintain relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and other logistics suppliers.Negotiate transportation rates, services, and contracts to improve supply chain efficiency and sustainability.Collaborate with internal departments to integrate logistics operations with business systems (sales, order management, accounting, etc.).Financial & Process Oversight Develop and monitor operational budgets and financial control systems.Analyze the financial impact of logistics decisions, including routing, shipping modes, volumes, product mixes, and carrier selection.Maintain metrics, reports, process documentation, customer service logs, and training or safety records.Continuous Improvement & Compliance Evaluate logistics workflows, recommending process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.Create Shipping processes & procedures and document in compliance with company policies. Ensure all logistics activities comply with company policies, customer requirements, and applicable regulations.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent education and experience.Experience Requirements: Minimum of 5 years in shipping, receiving, or logistics. Preferred experience of 3-5 years in international freight forwarding. Direct experience with OCONUS Freight Brokers, Customs, and multimodal transportation across CONUS and OCONUS regions.Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Incoterms, customs regulations, and import/export controls.
