Now hiring for a great role at Gateway! The Laboratory Technician position performs a wide variety of technical and administrative support for the automotive laboratory. Responsibilities include issuing tools, repairing tools, maintaining equipment and training aids, updating electronic inventories, and preparing the tool room and laboratory for instructional purposes. Other duties will include maintaining computer records, ordering and stocking supplies. This position may also assist in other laboratory activities as needed in an automotive shop.This position may also work with our stakeholders to maintain and receive all resources from our partners. Essential Functions 30% - Assists faculty members with basic operational needs such preparing and setting up work areas and instructional equipment while dispensing tools and equipment to students. 30% - Monitors and maintains the laboratory, tool room, supplies, and computers and all internal operations associated with an automotive shop environment. 20% - Maintains and services tools, equipment, and training aids including vehicles, fueling vehicles, shop cleanliness. Coordinates with outside vendors while working with specialized equipment, record keeping on shop inventory and equipment, maintaining lifecycle information on shop equipment. 10% - Orders parts, supplies, and maintains electronic inventory, vehicle inventory and readiness. 10% - This position may also work with our stakeholders to maintain and receive all resources from our partners.
