Job Summary * This is a hybrid role, with remote work and in-person, on-site coaching. Provides support and guidance to participants in the YMCA's Healthy Lifestyles Programs/HealthCoaching Services. Implements standard curriculum while delivering assigned programs and ensures quality operation consistent with YMCA guidelines. Acts as a liaison and advocate for Healthy Living. Understands the Health Seeker target market and provides motivational coaching to members participating in ongoing Healthy Living programs. Administers assigned Healthy Living Program area(s) following Association standards and guidelines. 2. Facilitates evidence-based health intervention group programs focused on behavior change, healthy habits, and peer support and/or provides one-on-one and small group health coaching sessions to support members in setting and achieving personal health and wellness goals. 3. Utilizes motivational interviewing techniques to guide participants in identifying barriers, building self-efficacy, and sustaining behavior change. 4. Collaborates with participants to develop individualized action plans, track progress, and celebrate milestones. 5. Works with directors to recruit participants and deliver classes. 6. Assists with workshops, special events and seasonal wellness programs for members. 7. Assists with marketing and retention activities to create robust classes with enrollment numbers, meeting program standards. 8. Achieves program specific target outcomes. 9. May conduct outreach with local organizations and providers for program recruitment. 10. Maintains records related to program following HIPAA Privacy Laws. 11. Encourages member involvement and identifies potential volunteers. 12. Other duties as assigned. Code of Conduct for Applicants All employees and volunteers are responsible for adhering to abuse prevention policies, maintaining appropriate boundaries, completing required training, reporting suspicious or inappropriate behavior, and complying with mandated reporting requirements. Responsible for ensuring staff are properly screened, trained, supervised and held accountable to the organization's abuse risk management standards. Qualifications 1. Two or more years of experience in a health behavior change field. 2. Experience using motivational interviewing techniques to support those seeking health behavior change. 3. Ability to maintain strict program fidelity. 4. Two years or more of college education in a health-related field. 5. Current state approved first aid certification. * 6. Current state approved CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification. * 7. Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations. 8. Working knowledge of chronic disease prevention health and fitness philosophies. 9. Must attend and receive passing grades in YMCA of the USA and/or YMCA of Greater Seattle training courses related to program delivery prior to leading classes (training pathways vary by program). 10. Must provide proof of certification for Health Coaching if doing individual coaching prior to working with participants. Preferred Qualifications: 1. Knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.). 2. Ability to speak any language in addition to English. 3. Specialized training/education related to physical activity and/or nutrition. 4. Community Health Worker or equivalent preferred. 5. Listen First Level I* and II training 6. Facilitating Change in Small Groups training * Within 30 days of employment or first available training. Within 90 days of employment or first available training.
