Be part of the team that helps deliver accurate, timely lab results that support patient care. As a Clinical Lab Assistant, you'll play a key role in specimen quality, processing, and workflow support-combining hands-on lab support with detail-focused clerical and data responsibilities. What you'll do * Prepare specimens for testing, including centrifugation, aliquoting, measuring/recording volumes, and ensuring proper storage/packaging for in-house or referral testing. * Support technical staff by loading and unloading specimens from analyzers. * Perform designated laboratory procedures and help ensure accurate, reproducible reporting of results with attention to quality and detail. * Complete complex clerical/process functions using independent judgment to support timely and accurate results reporting. * Assist with quality control activities and help prepare quality assurance information to support lab monitoring. * Manage department inventory by counting stock and storing received supplies. * Collect and prepare biohazardous waste for removal following safety protocols. * Maintain a strong focus on safety protocols and contribute to a safe lab environment. What we're looking for * High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in a health-related field preferred. * Previous laboratory experience preferred (two years in a related field preferred). * Ability to follow clinical protocols, specifications, and procedures with strong attention to detail. * Must achieve a passing score on data entry and medical terminology tests. * Comfortable working with minimal direct supervision, communicating clearly, and using good judgment.
