American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with critical care and ED experience for a day shift position at a Level I trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Springfield, IL.Job Details• Acute care hospital setting - 562-bed Level I trauma center and Magnet-designated facility,• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:00-18:30),• Every other weekend required,• On-call required as needed for the department,• Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital is required for all travelers,• Charting via Cerner,• Local candidates accepted with no radius requirement,Job Requirements• Active RRT credential required,• BLS required - AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI AHA cards not accepted,• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist,• Active Illinois (IL) RT license required - pending license not accepted; license required if applicable,• Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department experience required,• Cerner experience required,• Airway management experience required: endotracheal tube/suctioning, extubation, intubation assist, nasal and oral airway placement, oropharyngeal suctioning, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy/suctioning,• Nebulizer experience required: hand-held, T-piece, and trach collar,• Oxygen therapy experience required: bag and mask, ET tube, HFNC, T-piece, trach collar, and Venturi masks,• Ventilator management experience required: BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation,• SSN and DOB required for consideration,• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration,• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred,Additional Information• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,• Former permanent or PRN employees of the Memorial Hospital System must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler,• Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays,• RTO of up to 5 days is generally accommodated; requests exceeding 5 days require facility approval - all time-off requests must be submitted at the time of initial application,• Travel pairs are not accepted,• Any solid color scrubs are acceptable,• Parking is available at no cost with a permit obtained during orientation,• 13-week contract
