Completion of a three-year gastroenterology fellowship and a fourth-year fellowship in advanced endoscopy. License: Board Certified in Gastroenterology Certifications: ACLS BLS Must-Have: Successful completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited fellowship in Gastroenterology that included training in ERCP. Description: Immediate coverage need for an Interventional Gastroenterologist. Case logs for procedures are required. These logs must include documentation from a gastrointestinal system software and must be distinct for both ECU and ERCP, specifically for the past 12 months. The need is for in-house call with 12-hour shifts. Average expected time in-house is 8 AM to 8 PM, followed by 12 hours of on-call from 8 PM to 8 AM. Expected patient encounters per day are between 15 to 20, along with five procedures. Average call volume while on call is 0 to 10 calls from 7 PM to 7 AM. Average callbacks overnight are 1 to 3 times per week. Candidates are sought for an advanced endoscopy program offering a full-spectrum of services, including advanced ERCP, therapeutic EUS, and advanced resection modalities. Ideal candidates will possess the necessary qualifications and training. The facility is open to IMLC bids at this time. Specialty skills required include: Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, and cautery versus laser for fulguration of bleeders. Therapeutic interventions including stent placements and PEG. Liver biopsy and management of Sengstaken/Blakemore tube insertion are also required. Other skills preferred include diagnostic and therapeutic lower GI endoscopy, colonoscopy with biopsy, excision of polyps, and esophageal dilatation. The facility trauma level is classified as 0.
