A healthcare facility in the Macon, GA area seeks a licensed Pharmacist for a 9-week contract position. Key Responsibilities: • Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications. • Monitor patient medication adherence and identify over-usage patterns. • Ensure compliance with legal regulations regarding medication supply. • Maintain confidential and accurate patient and pharmacy records. • Educate patients on medication use, potential side effects, and proper handling of medical devices such as glucose meters and blood pressure monitors. • Provide consultations on prescription and OTC medications, including dosage, side effects, and interactions. • Offer patient services like smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management. • Compound medications, preparing sterile solutions following established protocols. • Supervise and coordinate pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks. • Manage pharmaceutical inventory to ensure adequate supply levels. • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals to resolve drug-related issues. Desired Experience and Qualifications: • Georgia Pharmacist license in-hand is required. • Retail pharmacy experience preferred; new retail pharmacists willing to train will be considered. • Ability to work in a team-oriented healthcare setting. • Strong communication and organizational skills.
