Job Title: Lab Technician Job Description The Lab Technician will be responsible for performing essential tests on used motor oil. This includes conducting the Penskey-Martens Closed Cup Flash Point, BS&W by Centrifuge, and pH testing. Additionally, the technician will test PCBs using a Gas Chromatograph (GC) and must have experience with BS&W, Flash Point Test, and Total Halogens using a Dexsil Test Kit. Responsibilities + Perform routine testing on oil samples following established procedures. + Conduct Penskey-Martens Closed Cup Flash Point, BS&W by Centrifuge, and pH tests. + Test PCBs using a Gas Chromatograph (GC). + Ensure all laboratory safety procedures are followed meticulously. + Utilize the Dexsil Test Kit for Total Halogens testing. Essential Skills + Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Chemistry. + 2+ years of experience in BS&W, Flash Point, and Total Halogens testing using a Dexsil Test Kit. + Proficient in wet chemistry and oil testing. + Familiarity with standard operating procedures (SOPs). Additional Skills & Qualifications + Open-minded and takes initiative. + Comfortable with multi-tasking. Work Environment The Lab Technician will work in a small laboratory setting. Safety is a priority, and wearing safety goggles and gloves is required. The position operates Monday through Friday from 1 pm to 9 pm. The team is known for its long tenure and collaborates with large utility companies. Reporting will be to a supervisor, ensuring a structured and safe work environment Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elizabeth, NJ.
