Job Title: Laboratory Technician (Apparel Focus) Location:  Bentonville, AR 72712 Pay Rate: $16.00 – $18.00/hr Shift: 2nd Shift (11:30 AM – 8:00 PM) Monday – Friday Specialization: Apparel Testing & Report Writing Job Overview UL Solutions is looking for a detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our 2nd-shift team in Bentonville. This specialized role focuses on apparel testing and report writing, ensuring that clothing and textile samples meet rigorous safety and quality standards. You will manage the entire lifecycle of a sample—from intake and technical testing to the final analysis and reporting. Your work is vital in helping clients ensure their products are safe for consumers and compliant with global regulations. Key Responsibilities Apparel Report Writing: Take the lead on 2nd-shift documentation, translating complex test data into clear, accurate reports for the apparel sector. Sample Management: Receive, label, and safely store textile and apparel samples. Ensure all handling follows strict protocols to maintain sample integrity. Testing & Analysis: Determine the specific tests required for various apparel samples and execute them accurately according to established UL protocols. Technical Communication: Discuss and explain test results to internal teams or clients, providing clear technical insights when questions arise. Laboratory Maintenance: Clean, maintain, and recalibrate laboratory instruments to ensure continuous functionality and compliance with safety guidelines. Compliance & Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous daily work logs and equipment usage records, ensuring all data is up-to-date and compliant with industry regulations. Safety Stewardship: Organize and store samples in compliance with safety guidelines to protect personnel and ensure valid results. Qualifications & Requirements Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific field (Chemistry, Biology, Lab Technology) OR equivalent practical laboratory experience. Experience: * Previous experience as a Lab Technician or in a related field is preferred. Specific experience in apparel/textile testing or specialized report writing is a major plus. Technical Skills: Proficient in operating laboratory instruments and following standardized testing methods. Strong computer literacy for detailed report generation and data entry. Core Competencies: Extreme Attention to Detail: Critical for accurate testing and identifying subtle defects. Communication: Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate findings clearly. Organization: Ability to manage multiple samples and reports simultaneously under 2nd-shift deadlines. Physical & Work Environment Ability to work the 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM shift consistently. High focus on safety protocols and PPE usage within the lab. Requires standing, handling small samples, and utilizing precision equipment.
