A healthcare facility in New Orleans, LA is seeking a skilled Staff Pharmacist for a per diem position providing inpatient pharmacy services. This role supports surgical specialties including reconstructive/plastic and orthopedic surgeries, and requires experience with IV preparations and sterile compounding. Location: New Orleans, LA (local candidates highly preferred) Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM On-call Monday through Thursday evenings (2:30 PM to 6:00 AM) No weekend coverage required Dates of Coverage: June 22nd - July 8th (training with Director prior to start) Key Responsibilities: Order entry and processing using Thrive (training available) Prepare and dispense IV medications Perform immediate-use sterile compounding Replenish Pyxis automated medication systems (training available) Provide reliable on-call pharmacy support after hours Qualifications & Experience: Louisiana Pharmacist license required Experience in inpatient pharmacy practice and IV medication preparation Familiarity with Thrive order entry and Pyxis automation preferred but not mandatory Able to work independently without technician support Comfortable working in a fast-paced surgical hospital environment Other Details: Dress code: black scrubs Training to be provided by Pharmacy Director before June 22nd This per diem opportunity is ideal for an experienced pharmacist who can provide flexible coverage supporting surgical inpatient care.
