DHR Health - US:TX:Edinburg - DaysSummary:The Interventional Technologist (IR) Tech Resident will be partnered with a trained and competent Technologist in a working environment to increase competency in performing the modality specific procedures. This residency includes a combination of observation and hands on training, allowing the resident to complete the required procedures for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registry in Vascular Intervention or Cardiac Vascular Radiography. The IR Tech Resident is responsible for performing all interventional procedures in a timely manner. As a member of the Radiology team, the IR Tech Resident is responsible for working collaboratively with other members to assure the safe and accurate delivery of patient care at DHR Health. Upon completion of the residency, the resident will be assigned to his/her designated shift and facility.POSITION EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:Graduate of an accredited radiology program required. Current state certification (i.e. Texas Medical Board) required.Current American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) general certification required.Current American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) certification in CV or VI preferred. American Heart Association BLS certification required.American Heart Association ACLS and PALS recommended.Must be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues.Secretarial experience and organizational skills are necessary.Good verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to read, write, and speak English required. Spanish preferred.Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration, and physicians.Computer knowledge required.Responsibilities:Promotes the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others.Considers mission, vision and values in developing services, standards and practicesPrepares necessary supplies and equipment for scheduled procedures. Performs necessary quality control and maintenance on equipment.Responsible for the care and cleanliness of equipment, supplies, and work area.Will be trained for performing all IR procedures in a timely manner and performs them per protocols, optimizing imaging examinations to use only the radiation necessary to produce diagnostic-quality images. Accurately comprehends and interprets verbal orders and directions. Assumes responsibility for the collection and processing of patient specimens.Completes accurate documentation on patient records according to policy. Able to perform the necessary functions on the facility's computer systems.Ensures exams are verified and completed for charging on PACS/RIS systems. Maintain Texas Department of Health (TDH), American College of Radiology (ACR), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and Joint Commission standards.Maintain equipment and procedure competencies.Able to operate all appropriate clinical equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Complete and update all employment requirements, including employer required continuing education (i.e. HealthStream), Employee Health, and Radiology Competencies, and Credentials, etc.Other duties as assigned.Call is required.Other information:JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:At least one (2) year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred.Hospital experience with interventional procedures or surgery (c-arm) preferred.Demonstrates accuracy, and the ability to closely follow established procedures.
