As a Front Office Associate & Limited X-Ray Technologist, you will be responsible for providing services to patients and referring professionals by completing registration, insurance and scheduling duties. This role also serves as a Limited X-ray Technologist, as needed and under the supervision of a licensed radiologist or registered technologist, focusing exclusively on x-rays of the bony anatomy within a defined scope of practice to obtain diagnostic radiographs per state guidelines (may vary by state). This position is full-time, working 7:00am - 3:30pm.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (50%) RegistrationGreet and checks-in patients scheduled for imaging services; processes payments and copays as neededAnswer phones and handles calls in an efficient and friendly mannerField phone calls appropriately for Center Team Members Act as liaison between imaging technologists and the patients waiting for exams, and relays messages regarding scanner status and other Clinic informationMaintain organization of the front office lobby area by straightening magazines, organizing coffee supplies and assisting with general office cleanupOrder office supplies as neededMaintain supply of patient information sheetsPush patient imaging via electronic interfacesComplete patient appointment confirmation calls and provide preparation instructions to patientsFax/scan reports, billing information, and medical release forms as requested(15%) Scheduling Arrange transportation, interpreters, and hotel accommodations for patients when appropriateEnter and submit patient exam orders Verify patient exam orders match exam schedulesSchedule referrals and ensures proper authorizations are obtainedSchedule walk-in patientsProcess requests for image orders and CDs from both the referring physicians and patientsMaintain an up-to-date and accurate database of all current and potential referring physicians(15%) Insurance Verify patient's insurance coveragePre-certify all patient exams with the patient's insurance companyObtain insurance authorizationsApply knowledge of insurance carriers (example Medicare) and procedures that require waivers to obtain pre-authorization, if needed, prior to patient appointmentsFacilitate Release of Information (ROI) requests for patients, referring offices, other medical facilities, attorneys & insurance companies following Company guidelines15% Limited X-Ray Tech Produce diagnostic images of the bony anatomy, in a limited assigned area of the body, under the supervision of a Radiologist or Registered Radiographic Technologist, per State prescribed guidelinesPerform quality control tasks as assignedPromote and motivate good customer relations with patients, physicians, visitors, and other company team membersMaintain an orderly and clean work area to promote good safety habits for patients and other team membersMaintain accurate patient records within Radiologic Information System (RIS)(5%) Completes other tasks and projects as assignedRequired:High School Diploma, or equivalent Successful completion of a Limited Technologist course through an accredited academic programOne (1) year of Customer Service experienceProficient in using computer systems and typingWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Outlook, Word, Teams, ExcelPreferred:Previous limited x-ray technologist experiencePrevious medical office experienceMedical terminology and office background Insurance knowledgeBilingualRAYUS is committed to delivering clinical excellence in communities across the U.S., driven by our passion for and superior service to referring providers and patients.
