About the JobPosition Overview:This locum Emergency Medicine opportunity offers a low-volume, high-autonomy practice environment within a critical access hospital setting. Providers will manage both emergency department patients and inpatient responsibilities, supported by a collaborative clinical team and strong ancillary services.Schedule & Coverage:Shifts per Month: Minimum of 3 shifts per pay period Shift Length: 24-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 AM) Occasional 12-hour shifts as needed On-Call: In-house coverage (sleep room available) Weekend Requirements: As needed Dates of Coverage Needed:April 15 @ 7:00 AM - April 18 @ 7:00 AM April 21 @ 7:00 AM - April 22 @ 7:00 AM April 26 @ 7:00 AM - April 27 @ 7:00 AM April 29 @ 7:00 AM - May 2 @ 7:00 AM May 3 @ 7:00 AM - May 4 @ 7:00 AM May 17 @ 7:00 AM - May 18 @ 7:00 AM June 10 @ 7:00 AM - June 15 @ 7:00 AM Clinical Environment:Setting: Critical Access Hospital Emergency Department: 3 treatment rooms Inpatient Capacity: 20 beds (medical-surgical) Average ED Volume: ~4 patients per day Average Inpatient Census: ~4 patients (observation, acute, swing bed) Patient Population: All ages Clinical Responsibilities:Provide emergency department coverage and patient care.Manage inpatient responsibilities including rounding.Deliver care across observation, acute, and swing bed patients.Collaborate with nursing and support staff in a low-volume setting.Support & Resources:APP Support: 4 Advanced Practice Providers (no supervision required) Nursing Support: 2 RNs Ancillary Staff: 1 CNA per provider Imaging: Available Lab & Pharmacy: Available EMR: Together Care (Epic) Services Offered: Emergency care (3-bed ED) Inpatient medical-surgical services (20 beds) Outpatient services including: Laboratory Radiology Rehabilitation Infusion services Ambulatory surgery Requirements:Board Certification: ABEM or FP/IM with recent Emergency Medicine experience (Required) Licensure: Active Iowa license (Required) Availability: Must list available dates at time of name clear (Required) Background: Clean malpractice and background history (Required) NPDB: Self-Query report (within 30 days) required at time of submission.
