Equity and inclusion are central to Earlham's institutional priorities and our leadership is committed to widening the path to an Earlham education.Position OverviewReporting to the Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students, the Director will assist senior leadership for the Division of Student Life in the development of a holistic approach to ensuring student health, personal development and overall positive well-being. In collaboration with senior leadership, the Director will: provide guidance for the division's response to students of concern; monitor assessment and current behavioral trends; help facilitate and evaluate programs that center on counseling, health and wellness goals for positively impacting the student experience; and overseeing the development of a well-care plan for students.Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership for Counseling ServicesManage a student case loadConsult with the Academic Enrichment Center and partner for assessment and programmingAdvise as needed for ODAS (Office of Disability and Accessibility Services) student casesProvide outreach and maintain contractual agreements with local mental health agencies and professionalSupport and advocate for undergraduate and graduate students who are in crisis: intervene in sensitive cases involving mental and physical illness and other threats of harm to mind and bodyServe on the College's Early Alert teamProvide expertise and participate in the division's on-call crisis response as neededAdvise Dean/Director on-call personnel, along with Public Safety and Residence Life staffMonitor compliance expectations for Counseling ServicesAdvise as needed in response to crisis situations (Title IX, etc.)Some required evening/weekend work throughout the academic yearAdditional duties as assignedQualificationsMaster's degree or higher in student affairs administration or counseling with an active license to practice counseling (LMHC or LCSW) in the state of Indiana.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsProficient with an electronic health record softwareStrong project / program management and evaluation skillsFlexibility and willingness to assume new tasks and special projectsExcellent leadership and team management skillsDemonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and culturesPrevious experience working with students regarding cases related to Title IX, victim advocacy and educationClinical education in Counseling and/or Health related fields preferred (psychology, social work and/or psychiatric nursing).To ApplyPlease submit the following materials with your application:Cover letterResumeList of Three References with Contact Information The review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.Employee Benefits at EarlhamMedical, Dental, and Vision Insurance*Company paid Long-Term Disability after 1 year of full-time service*Basic and Voluntary Life insurance* Employee Assistance Program*Campus Store DiscountFree ticket vouchers for Richmond Symphony OrchestraWellness Center Free Membership or Discount for eligible employeesAthletic Games-Free entry to all home games Free entry into most Theatre/Music showsTuition Benefits for Immediate Family for eligible employees*403(b) Retirement* - For eligible employees, Earlham will contribute a non-elective contribution equal to 5% of gross pay after 2 years of service.
