Sales commission available in this role.PurposeThe Wellness Director (non-nurse) plans, organizes, develops, and directs the overall operation of the Resident Care Department to assure resident safety, and attain or maintain the highest practicable quality assisted living services focused on maximizing residents' individual capabilities in accordance with all laws, regulations and Century Park standards. Reports to the Executive Director.Working ConditionsWeekend supervision responsibilitiesAttends and participates in continuing education programsWorks in department as well as throughout communitySubject to frequent interruptionsInvolved with residents, associates, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc. under all conditions and circumstancesSubject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, etcWorks beyond normal working hours, on weekends and holidays, and in other positions as needed temporarilySubject to falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc. throughout the workdayPossible exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including exposure to the AIDS and hepatitis B virusesEducation and ExperienceMust have two (2) years supervisory experience in senior care, or related settingMust have CPR certification upon hire, or obtain during orientation, certification must remain current during employmentMust have current First Aid certification (if required by State)Specific RequirementsMust be able to communicate effectively with physicians, resident care staff, and all other staff, family members, or othersParticipates in community health matters/projects as appropriateLiaisons with residents, families, support departments, etc. to adequately plan for resident needsMust be able to collect, analyze, and manage dataMust have expert knowledge in field of practiceMust possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actionMust be knowledgeable of nursing administration practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing functions in an assisted living communityMust have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the resident care departmentMust perform proficiently in all applicable competency areasMaintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, meant to be an exhaustive list of all job duties.Administrative and PlanningPlans, develops, organizes, implements and evaluates resident care goalsMaintains compliance with budget in labor and expense controlCreates, manages and approves scheduling for Resident Care staff to ensure appropriate staffing levels 24/7Resident Care FocusWorks with Executive Director and/or Assisted Living Director to build relationships with residents and familiesCompletes Resident assessments, develops and implements service plans and communicates these outcomes with resident and/or family member upon admission, and as often as is State-mandated, no less than semi-annually and as neededConducts incident report follow-up investigation and ensures completion of resident status documentationPrepares for survey readiness and follow-up to ensure Plan of Correction is appropriately and timely completedDevelops and monitors quality improvement planCompletes audits and observations to ensure associate compliance with Infection Control and other resident care regulationsEnsures documentation of resident clinical status/needs, communicates with physicians and other healthcare professionalsInvestigates and resolves resident and family concerns and complaints in collaboration with Executive DirectorMedication Management FocusOversees medication program including accuracy of medication assistance records (MARs), providing hands-on medication assistance to residents and monitoring med passesProvides communication and follow-up with provider pharmacy to ensure compliance with resident medication ordersConducts regular audits of medication records, med storage areas, MARs and Narcotic Declining InventoriesSupervisory RequirementsRecruits, selects, hires, trains, evaluates, supervises, and counsels resident care team as neededServes as an effective role model, maintaining an approachable leadership styleEssential FunctionsMust be able to plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, establish benchmarks, and direct resident care staffMust be able to schedule appropriate levels of Care aides/CNAs, Med Techs, and/or LPNs per shiftMust be able to effectively manage and operate with department budgetPerforms tasks under the direction of an LPN or RN as needed and supervises the LPN and RN staff as applicableMust exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards residents and staffMust follow company policies including harassment, code of ethics, complaint procedures, safety, sanitation, confidentiality, dress code, open door, and resident rightsMust ensure compliance with regulatory standardsMust be able to assist in the evacuation of residents and support residents in times of crisis (i.e. natural disasters, etc.)Must demonstrate dependable, regular attendanceMust be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English languageMust be able to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgmentMust be
