DescriptionPosition Summary The clinical coordinator will be responsible for staff nurse accountabilities in addition to more advanced requirements as delegated by the Department Director. Position AccountabilitiesServes as clinical nurse practitioner role model for the nursing staff.Performs a variety of nursing administrative duties as needed.Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.Oversees the delivery of patient care for a group of patients; directs and delegates patient care assignments to nursing staff working on the floor, based on acuteness of patient care needs and staff availability.Collects, aggregates, displays and conducts first level analysis of data obtained from monitoring and evaluating the quality or utilization level of patient care.Investigates complaints of patients, nursing staff, and medical staff and takes appropriate action; follows up to ensure that complaints have been satisfactorily handled.Prepares and maintains records of patient charges.Performs staff nurse duties as assigned.Cooperates with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employee relations, interdepartmental objectives, and infection control practices.Organizes, directs, and coordinates functions and activities in assigned units.Identifies and resolves workplace health and safety issues.Inspects area daily for compliance with polices, procedures, regulations, and standards and takes corrective action when violations occur.Maintains required unit records, reports, and statistics for administrative purposes and budget preparation.Responsible for noting/connoting all physician orders.Reviews all patient records for completeness.Accompanies physicians on patient rounds as requested.Assures all medical information is filed in patient records as requested.Facilitates and expedites patient care by utilizing critical thinking skills.Anticipates patient/physician needs and serves as a liaison to expedite those needs.Orients, instructs and trains assigned personnel.Guides, teaches and supports nursing personnel in the development and implementation of patient care plans.Develops, implements and administers in-service education for nursing staff.Investigates new products, equipment, and techniques and makes recommendations to Chief Clinical Officer. Participates in demonstration of these to department staff.Requisitions supplies and equipment, maintenance and repair services, and prepares related forms. Keeps stock and equipment inventories.Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.RequirementsMinimum Education - Associate Degree/DiplomaMinimum Experience - Completed initial employment period. 2-3 years general practice (I). 3 years in specialty (II).Required Course(s)/Training - Basic Arrhythmia and 12 Lead EKG within 6 months Approved Crisis Intervention CourseRequired Certification/Registration - Current Oklahoma RN license; BLS certification, ACLS, PALS, NRP and ESI Triage training within 6 months TNCC and NIMS 100within 1 yearPreferred Education - Bachelor Degree in NursingPreferred Certification/Registration - CENManagement Experience - Supervisory experience preferred
