Be part of our dynamic team and make a meaningful impact in healthcare!As a Respiratory Therapist you will:Provide routine therapies such as chest physiotherapy, volume expansion therapy, and nebulizer treatments.Perform diagnostic testing such as electrocardiograms (EKGs) and pulmonary function tests (PFTs).Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) draws and interpretation.Review patient charts to ensure appropriate home regiments for respiratory medications as well as make changes under supervision of a healthcare provider.Analyze and evaluate respiratory program services through an active, ongoing quality assurance program to improve quality of patient care and customer service. Represent Respiratory Therapy department at Quality Connection meetings and Quality Committee meetings.Maintain and manage sleep lab services including maintaining non-employed staff credentials to assure staff compliance and ensure they adhere to Story County Medical Center policies.Maintain accreditation with DNV through developing policies and procedures to align with regulatory standards within the scope of respiratory therapy.Respond to emergencies as a member of the medical emergency team.Maintain strict confidentiality of patient, resident, and personnel information.JOIN OUR TEAM!Are you detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about optimizing patient care? We are looking for candidates who meet the following requirements:Required Education, Experience, and Skills: Licensed by the State of Iowa as a Respiratory Care and Polysomnography Practitioner or Certified Respiratory Therapist Certified through the National Board for Respiratory Therapy Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of start date (will not be able to work independently until certified) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of start date Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of start date Mandatory Reporter (Adult and Child) Certification within 90 days of start date Knowledge of emergency equipment operation and maintenance. Ability to operate and maintain respiratory therapy equipment.
