Substitute Early Head Start/Head Start Teacher JobID: 311 Position Type: Substitute/Substitute Teacher Date Posted: 2/26/2024 Location: Family Service Center Additional Information: Show/Hide Overview of Responsibilities: * Substitute in a classroom with children ages 3 and under * Treat all children and adults with dignity and respect. * Assure the safety and well-being of all children * Promote feelings of trust and security in infants and toddlers by being warm, supportive, comforting, and by establishing strong and caring relationships with them. * Follow the program to meet the needs of individual children with concerns for their interests, special needs, talents and individual style and pace of learning. * Assure that each infant and toddler is warmly greeted upon arrival * Talk, sing and read to children frequently during the day. * Respond quickly in a soothing and tender manner to cries or calls of distress. * Respond consistently to needs for food and comfort. * Implement individualized feeding plans; respect individual preferences and eating styles; sit with children and share family-style meal; model manners and good nutrition. * Tend to each child's personal hygiene needs and remain attentive to them during routines such as diaper changing, cleaning, feeding and changing soiled or wet clothes. * Organize each day's activities to provide children with a variety of experiences and opportunities.
