Scheduled Hours40Position SummaryPosition serves as the initial and primary contact person for the Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine program within the division of Academic Pediatrics. Responsibilities include answering and screening all calls, scheduling appointments, completing prior authorizations, and maintaining various clinic schedules. Individual will utilize EHR to manage records and require substantial use of medical terminology.Job DescriptionPrimary Duties & Responsibilities: Schedules appointments and procedures for patients for Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine, as well as coordinating appointments with other specialties.Coordinates administrative and clinical support services such as patient calls, processing and paperwork related to prescription refills, patient appointments, referrals and prior authorizations.Answers telephones, takes messages, and screens patient inquiries, providing information according to departmental procedures and policies.Serves as a liaison between community agencies, patients, physicians, and staff, providing routine information to patient inquiries. Processes paperwork for patients from other providers and community agencies and hospitals.Transcribes medical documents, such as physician's letters, correspondence; completes requisitions/orders per WashU guidelines.Prepares patient charts.Performs other duties as assigned, including providing support to all Academic Pediatric service lines during peak times, vacations and illnesses.Working Conditions:Job Location/Working Conditions:Normal office environment.Physical Effort:Typically sitting at desk or table.Repetitive wrist, hand or finger movement.Equipment:Office equipment.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by people assigned to this classification.
