Preceptor II, Radiography Department: Health Professions Location: Western Campus Reports To: Program Director, Radiography and Mammograpy Recruitment Type: External/Internal Requisition ID: req6714 Employment Type: Full-Time Support Staff Union Position: Non-Union Work Schedule: Primarily M-F 8:30 am - 5:00 pm with evening hours required on a biweekly basis to visit evening clinical students. Number of Openings: 1 Job Description: SUMMARY Supports the organization, administration, planning, development, assessment and general effectiveness of the clinical components of the radiography and mammography programs to ensure compliance with accreditation and professional standards. Serves in the role of the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT)-mandated position of Clinical Coordinator. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Functions as the primary clinical preceptor in the clinical visitation team, organizing and directing the activities of others preceptors * Responsible for the coordination of the clinical components of the radiography and mammography programs * Holds primary responsibility for ensuring student and clinical affiliate compliance with program, professional and accreditation policies and standards * Creates, maintains and serves as liaison for the program's online clinical tracking platform * Oversees the maintenance of required Bureau of Criminal Investigation background check and current immunization data for all students * Creates, reviews and maintains student clinical rotation schedules * Verifies compliance of clinical schedules with JRCERT requirement for equity of clinical experiences * Conducts regular clinical affiliate visits including evening visits to students in the evening/weekend program track * Investigates and resolves conflicts with students and/or clinical affiliates * Performs didactic instruction (which may include web-based instruction) for components of clinically-related program courses * Supports the Program Director to ensure effective program operation * Participates in admission, curriculum and assessment processes * Assists with advising and providing guidance to students * Maintains effective communication with applicants, students, graduates, faculty, instructors and outside stakeholders * Serves as liaison between College and community healthcare agencies, professional organizations and other entities vital to the radiography and mammography programs * Maintains office hours * Performs other duties as assigned which may include but are not limited to: admission, orientation, recruitment and radiography lab supervising activities REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING * Bachelor's degree in radiologic science or a related field * Current radiography certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) * Current Ohio radiologic license * Minimum of one year of demonstrated experience as an instructor (e.g. adjunct instructor, full-time faculty, clinical instructor, staff technologist training students in a clinical setting) with a JRCERT-accredited program * Minimum four years of demonstrated clinical experience in the professional discipline * Must successfully complete a Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) background check to include fingerprinting, social security number trace, county record search, state search and a check of Federal Bureau of Investigation records * Must provide proof of required titers and immunizations as specified at: Tri-C Health Career Immunization Information: Cleveland, Oh * Demonstrated Improvement PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING * Master's degree, earned or in process, in radiologic science, education, health science or related field * Post-primary ARRT certification in one or more additional imaging modalities (e.g. mammography, CT, MR, etc.) * Experience as a clinical instructor or preceptor in a JRCERT-accredited program * Experience with programmatic accreditation * Demonstrated leadership ability * Experience with various learning management systems and online instructional or clinical tracking tools (e.g. Trajecsys, Brightspace, Banner, curriculum planning programs, etc.) * Experience with recruiting clinical affiliates and/or students PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS (The demands described here are representative of those However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.; * Work will also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to clinical affiliates and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite Target Starting Salary Range: $75,000 to $85,000 The final offer for the successful candidate is targeted to fall within this range but will be based upon an assessment of internal equity, the unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications in relation to the minimum and/or preferred job requirement(s).
