Job Title: Lab Specialist Location: Louisville, KY Schedule: First Shift | Monday-Friday | 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (flexible start time) + occasional overtime Pay: $30-$32/hour Company Overview: Snelling Staffing is proud to partner with a leading ethanol production facility in Louisville to identify a detail-oriented and technically skilled Lab Specialist. This role plays a critical part in ensuring product quality, compliance, and operational efficiency within a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment. Position Summary The Lab Specialist will support the Process Engineer, Alcohol Department Manager, and Director of Operations by executing and maintaining laboratory testing procedures, ensuring product quality, and upholding industry and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities -Perform quality testing on outbound alcohol loads and inbound bulk materials -Evaluate new streams to determine process viability -Monitor and ensure product quality standards including moisture content, color, proof, consistency, and denaturant percentages -Calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and document laboratory equipment; recommend improvements as needed -Maintain compliance with ASTM D-5501, ISO, D4806, and other applicable standards -Develop, update, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) -Prepare samples for third-party lab analysis and ensure compliance with DOT hazardous materials regulations -Maintain inventory of lab chemicals, supplies, and calibration standards -Perform bench-scale distillation and other experiments to simulate production processes -Ensure a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment -Safely handle, label, and store customer samples Qualification -Previous laboratory experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment strongly preferred -Strong understanding of quality control processes and laboratory procedures -Experience working with industry standards (ASTM, ISO, etc.) is a plus -Ability to troubleshoot equipment and maintain accurate documentation -Strong attention to detail and organizational skills -Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a teamOur Commitment to Fair Hiring:HireQuest does not discriminate on the basis of Race, Color, Religion, Sex, Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, National Origin, Age, Genetic Information, Disability, Protected Veteran Status, or other legally protected group status in making hiring or employment decisions.
