Works with inpatients, outpatients, and non-patients and follows through until an eligibility determination has been made.Department: Patient ServicesHours: Full time 40 hours/week requiredShift: FirstRequired: High School Diploma; Driver's LicensePreferred: Certified Application Counselor (CAC)Pay: Based on experience, starting at $17.79/hourResponsibilitiesAny other duties orresponsibilities as assigned bymanagement., Certificate for CAC - Certified Application Counselor required if/when the hospitals is CDO certified., Conduct active follow throughon completed applications tohelp ensure deadlines are met., Conduct home visits asneeded., Educate and assist clients inobtaining requireddocumentation for the application process., Enroll qualified individuals into applicable payer programs (local/state/federal) including Medicaid, All Kids, Health Insurance Plans, Social Security Disability Insurance, etc., Interviews potential clientsand verify all clientinformation while maintaininga compassionate, judgement-free environment., Maintains expertise ineligibility, enrollment, andprogram specifications of thevarious government payerprograms available topatients., Prepare and maintain reports(results, tracking, etc) andkeep accurate records of case load., Serves as a resource andresponds to questionsregarding governmentpayers/insurance, Submit applications to theDepartment of Health andHuman Services and/or otherdesignated intake centers., Work closely with CaseManagers and Medicaid Billersto ensure accurate and timelybilling.RequirementsHigh School (Required)Certified Application Counselor - Sarah Bush Lincoln, Driver's License - State of IllinoisCompensationEstimated Compensation Range$17.79 - $27.57Pay based on experience
