The HIM Specialist is responsible for the collection, organization, and maintenance of both physical and electronic medical records, ensuring they are accurately entered into the MEDHOST EHR system. Key responsibilities include record preparation, scanning, indexing, abstracting data, data entry, record retrieval, and analyzing both paper and electronic information.The HIM Specialist is tasked with ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of the data within the medical record while adhering to the highest standards of privacy and security. This includes ensuring compliance with the HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules, as well as all relevant state and federal regulations.
