Intake and Referral Specialist - Early On Kent ISD Full time, 260 day year-round position Non-Union Hourly Classified, Grade 5 (Steps 1-3 = $25.71-$28.29/hr, commensurate with experience and background)Provides primary support for the Early On Kent ISD Intake and Referral team. Works as a collaborative team with administrative assistants and administrators to develop and implement efficient systems to process referrals from multiple sources (including CAPTA), facilitate screening, schedule evaluations, and coordinates to make referrals when appropriate to LEA and early childhood partners in Kent ISD.Specific Duties and Responsibilities Maintains up-to-date knowledge and information on services for infants and toddlers with special needs and their families and serves as liaison between service providers' families and/or referral sources. Facilitate use of developmental screeners with referents to evaluate development across developmental domains. Assist families and caregivers in navigation of services available for young children and their families. Facilitates intake and referral activities and customer service responsibilities. Communicates with families, doctors' offices, school districts, community organizations and referents for Early On Kent ISD and serves as a team member on the Early On Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required Bachelor's degree in early childhood, human services, or related field or minimum of three (3) years experience in early childhood, human services or related field that required proven expertise in organizational, problem solving and technological skills. Ability to interact well with young children and families with knowledge and experience in child development. Ability of a to effectively interact, work, and develop meaningful relationships with people of various cultural backgrounds. Cultural background can include the beliefs, customs, and behaviors of people from various groups. Ability to meet deadlines, to concentrate and pay close attention to details; also ability to organize, prioritize, and work independently and cooperatively as well as schedule and produce work in a timely manner. High level of verbal communication and interpersonal skills such as discretion, integrity and flexibility to interact effectively with all customers including; parents, staff, community members, district representatives and other team members. Ability to work with several professional staff members and the coordinator, including the ability to prioritize the tasks appropriately. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in an appropriate manner.
