Administer and record medications as ordered bythe physician, in accordance with certification regulations.Essential Functions:Treat all information about residents,their condition, and family as confidential informationComply with established policies and procedures and maintainestablished standards and practicesAssist with or provide personal hygiene care,including bathing, shaving, changing clothing, nail care, and toilet needsEnsure residents have clean, dry linen andmake beds as neededSupport proper resident nutrition during mealand snack timesPerform resident treatments as assigned bythe Head Nurse and within the nursing scope of practiceAccurately observe, record, and reportchanges in resident condition or needs to the Head NurseActively participate in the planning ofresident carePromote activities of daily living accordingto the resident's service planConduct resident lifts and transfersaccording to the resident's service plan and the Lift Free ProgramPrepare and administer oral, topical, andinhalant medications, recording administration in the resident's medicalrecord, and monitoring and reporting changes in condition related to medicationadministrationPerform other functions asdirected by the supervisorQualifications:Must be certified on state registry as a MedicationTechnician within 120 days of employmentAbility to frequently lift and transfer up to30 pounds of resident weight (approximately 15 times) throughout the shiftAbility to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist,and turn constantly throughout an eight (8) hour shiftStrong organizational skills and ability toperform sequential tasksMotivation and desire to work with geriatricresidentsAbility to communicate effectively inEnglish, both verbally and in writing, to carry out care plans and provideappropriate resident careCPR certification and basic First AidpreferredLicensed Nursing Assistant in the state wherecare is provided a plusPhysical Requirements:Must be able to work on their feet constantly during an 8-hour shift;bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently throughout the shift while performingregular duties. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds of resident weight and/ortransfer and reposition residents at least 25 times throughout the shift. Mustbe capable of quick and decisive reactions in emergencies and in response tounexpected resident behavior during lifting, repositioning, or other directcontact situations. Must be able to physically transfer residents to saferlocations in the event of a fire or other emergencies. Ability to performsequential events/tasks efficiently.
