Pay Grade: A-1 Period of Employment: 220 days Description Approved/ Revised: 3/2026 FLSA Status: Exempt Supervised by and/or Reports to: Director of Professional Learning General Responsibilities: Assists the Director of Professional Learning in developing, implementing, and delivering meaningful coaching and learning opportunities for instructional staff in Manassas City Public Schools, with a particular focus on supporting and onboarding new teachers as they transition into the division. The omission of specific duties does not exclude their addition if they are similar to or a logical extension of the position.) * Partners with teachers to ensure equitable opportunities and access for all students. * Engages in coaching with new instructional staff to implement best practices through instructional coaching to improve student learning and achievement. * Leads the planning, development, and execution of New Teacher Academy. * Ensures consistency of implementation of the Teacher Education and Mentoring (TEAM) program vision, mission, and goals at each building by working collaboratively with building lead mentors and mentor teachers. * Provides comprehensive support to all members of the TEAM program through targeted professional learning, implementation of program expectations, and ongoing collaboration. * Provides targeted, ongoing support to teachers through one-on-one coaching, workshops, and job-embedded professional learning. * Facilitates reflective conversations with teachers to drive instructional decision-making and practices. * Provides teachers with strategies for problem solving and effective self-reflection with the goal of enhancing their professional practice. * Fosters collaboration among the various levels of support provided to teachers (mentors, specialists, administrators, etc.). * Supports the design, delivery, and monitoring of ongoing professional learning aligned with division priorities and goals. * Serves as a liaison between the Office of Professional Learning, schools, colleagues, and other departments/administrative offices to ensure alignment and effective implementation of key priorities throughout the division. * Uses effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly. * Maintains confidentiality in professional relationships with colleagues, students, parents, administrators, and community members. * Models being a lifelong learner by participating in professional learning opportunities that are aligned to the goals of this position. * Performs other duties as assigned. Requisite Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Leadership skills that promote successful collaboration with administrators, teachers, and the school community. * Knowledge of current research and best practices in instructional planning, implementation, and data analysis. * Knowledge of adult learning practices and experience in designing and delivering effective professional learning opportunities. * Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet established deadlines. * Consistently models professionalism in all settings. * Committed to personal professional learning and growth. * Strong written, interpersonal, collaborative, speaking and facilitation skills. * Ability to resolve conflict and appropriately respond to concerns in a timely manner. * Demonstrated excellence as a classroom teacher. Requisite Education and Experience: * Minimum of three (3) years teaching experience. * Must possess or be eligible for a Virginia Teaching License. * Experience in coaching individuals, preferred. * Experience in leading teams of teachers and facilitating adult learning. * Experience in designing and delivering effective professional learning activities at the district, school, and classroom levels. Physical Requirements: Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to: a personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine.
