Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with NICU and adult critical care experience for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma Center acute care hospital.Job Details• Short-term acute care hospital setting at a Level II Trauma Center with 431 staffed beds,• Primary unit is NICU with required rotation to adult floors, adult ICU, ED, and pediatric units - this is not a NICU-only position,• NICU assignments vary based on patient acuity,• Floating within scope is required to meet facility needs,• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30),• Every other weekend required, plus every other holiday,• Potential for mandatory on-call, up to 2 shifts per month,• Block scheduling may be accommodated at manager's discretion,• Epic EMR,• Wine-colored scrubs required,Job Requirements• Active VA license required; license required if applicable,• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (ACLS may be obtained within 90 days of start date),• CRTT certification required,• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience,• Proficiency in airway management, medication administration, ABG draw and analysis, O2 therapy, suctioning, pulmonary toileting, BiPAP, CPAP, and nebulizers,• Adult critical care, ED, and community hospital work setting experience required,• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years,• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained,Additional Information• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,• Local candidates are accepted,• RTO requests are accommodated at manager's discretion and must be listed at the time of initial submission,• NRP and RRT credentials are preferred,• Experience in NICU, ED, adult ICU, and Level II trauma preferred, though experience in all areas is not required,• Provide aerosol, bronchial hygiene, and lung inflation therapies; manage CPAP/BiPAP; and perform ABG draws and analysis,• Attendance at monthly department meetings is expected; if not working, candidates must review meeting minutes and send written acknowledgment to management
