South Carolina State University is seeking a talented Assistant Professor/Research Scientist in Computer Science/Cybersecurity ( with AI/ML/Data Science Focus) to join our prestigious College of Science, Mathematics, and Engineering Technology team. You will be responsible for developing and implementing advanced algorithms, models, and techniques to analyze complex data sets and uncover valuable insights. Key Responsibilities: 1. Design and develop state-of-the-art AI/ML models and algorithms to tackle challenging research problems across various domains, including but not limited to computer vision, natural language processing, and predictive analytics. 2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify research opportunities, define project goals, and implement innovative solutions. 3. Conduct in-depth data analysis, feature engineering, and model optimization to ensure accurate and reliable results. 4. Stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI/ML and data science and actively contribute to the field through research publications and conference presentations. 5. Mentor and guide graduate and undergraduate students in research projects, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation. Qualifications: * Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field with a strong focus on AI/ML and data science. * Proven track record of conducting cutting-edge research, with publications in top-tier journals or conferences. * Extensive experience in programming languages such as Python, R, and/or C++, and proficiency in using machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch). * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively. * Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
