The Solon Community Center has openings for part-time Child Care Attendants. This position provides child and infant care for children between the ages of 6-months and ten years, in a safe and nurturing environment while actively interacting with children by reading stories, playing games, providing art projects and encouraging role playing.Primary tasks and responsibilities for this position include preparing the rooms and areas of the Community Center in which the program is held, taking attendance as the participants arrive, facilitating arts and crafts, preparing necessary supplies as needed, and communicating with the parents when necessary. In addition, employees must maintain a safe environment by conducting daily cleaning of toys and furniture, removing any safety hazards immediately, and responding to emergencies appropriately. Candidates should be familiar with basic first-aid and CPR. The employee must maintain accurate and daily records including check in/out sheet and incident reports.Applicants must be at least eighteen (18) years of age and must be able to communicate well both written and verbally with adults and children. Desired qualities include personable, gentle, creative and patient.
