We pride ourselves on blending operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and a heartfelt commitment to resident dignity, comfort, and quality of life. Our brand is built on a “mountain grit & grace” ethos — we believe in seeing beyond the daily tasks to the bigger purpose: building communities where residents, families, and staff see hope, respect, and compassion in every interaction. At Ascent, every facility is more than a building — it’s a home. We strive to create environments that feel warm, secure, and intentional, with a “from this Overlook we see a better future” mindset. We value transparency, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. As part of our leadership team, you’ll have real operational influence, a supportive corporate backbone, and the opportunity to shape culture and care in a meaningful way. Position Summary As Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA) for Ascent Healthcare Management, you will hold overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations, clinical oversight, regulatory compliance, financial management, and staffing of one of our skilled nursing / long-term care facilities in Western North Carolina. You’ll serve as the primary leader for staff, residents, families, and regulatory bodies — ensuring high standards of care, resident satisfaction, and financial viability, while upholding the values and culture of Ascent. Key Responsibilities Provide executive leadership for all facility departments — clinical, administrative, custodial, dietary, maintenance, and support services.  Oversee admissions, care coordination, resident well-being, and discharge processes; ensure residents’ care plans are implemented and families are kept informed. Maintain compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, including licensing requirements for nursing home administrators. Develop, manage, and monitor the facility budget — including revenue (Medicaid, Medicare, private pay), expenses, staffing costs, and overall financial performance.  Hire, train, mentor, and evaluate all levels of staff; foster a supportive, stable, high-performance culture.  Coordinate with leadership to meet occupancy and census targets; collaborate on facility marketing, community outreach, and referral relationships. (Reflecting Ascent’s emphasis on census goals, business growth, and community integration.) Lead quality-improvement initiatives, safety programs, resident satisfaction efforts, and periodic performance reviews — always with an eye toward Ascent’s mission of “a better future from this Overlook.” Serve as point-of-contact and liaison with regulatory authorities, families, community partners, and corporate leadership; represent Ascent’s values in every interaction. Minimum Qualifications Valid, unencumbered North Carolina Nursing Home Administrator license (or eligible for licensure) per state requirements. Bachelor’s degree (healthcare administration, business administration, nursing, or related field) — master’s degree preferred but not required. Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in long-term care administration or comparable facility leadership role; proven track record of regulatory compliance and operational excellence.  Demonstrated skills in financial management, budgeting, staffing, HR, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance.  Strong leadership, communication, public-relations, conflict-resolution, and decision-making capabilities.  Ability to work flexible hours and be on-call as needed (nights/weekends/holidays), given the 24/7 nature of skilled nursing operations. What Makes This Role At Ascent Unique Culture-first Leadership – We’re looking for someone who doesn’t just run a building — but lives and breathes a mission of dignity, respect, and hope. Operational Clout – As part of our corporate leadership team, you’ll have real influence on staffing strategy, budget oversight, census growth, and quality initiatives. Growth-Oriented Vision – With multiple facilities under Ascent, strong census-goals, and ambitious expansion plans, you’ll play a key role in shaping our future and helping us grow — personally and organizationally. Opportunity to Build Legacy – You’ll join a company that values long-term commitment, continuous improvement, and community impact — ideal for someone who wants to make a lasting positive difference. Supportive Corporate Backbone – While we expect grit and high standards, you won’t be alone. You’ll have corporate support for compliance, policies, marketing, and operational systems — freeing you to focus on leadership and care.
