May INCLUDE REGIONAL TRAVEL TO SUPPORT OTHER COMMUNITIESPosition Summary Perform ultrasound exams. Schedule's patients and performs other office functions in a small department. Maintain quality control documentation. Responsible for diagnostic imaging in ultrasound; works independently in performing these exams. Collaborate with radiologists, providers, and other technologists to improve patient care while understanding that lack of communication can adversely affect patient health. Travels to other facilities as needed to provide service. Provide on-call services on a rotational basis. Works with SEARHC staff to create a strong team environment.ACCOUNTABILITIESUltrasound. Performs diagnostic imaging using ARDMS protocols for the following exams: OB/GYN; abdomen; pelvic and endovaginal; small parts including breast, thyroid, and scrotum; vascular, including DVT, arterial legs, carotids. Flexibility to perform other ultrasounds upon request of radiologist. Receives patients, explains procedures, and selects appropriate equipment to ensure good patient care.Office Duties. Performs office jobs in a small department including, but not limited to: answering phones, scheduling patients' exams, printing reports, retrieving charts, researching problems, ordering supplies, copying and mailing exams to various facilities, and helping providers. Collaborates with SEARHC staff to create a positive working environment.Documentation of QA and QC for SEARHC imaging modalities. Documents: high level disinfection, and other information per Joint Commission regulations.BASELINE QUALIFICATIONSEducation:• Associates degree with certification in diagnostic sonography.• Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound program preferredExperience:• 1 year Ultrasound experience• License and Certifications:• ARDMS or ARRT certified or registration eligibleKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesExtensive knowledge of the anatomy and physiology used in standard ultrasound exams.Skilled at independently performing ultrasound. Skilled in oral and written communication. Skilled in organizing and cleaning work areas and maintaining equipment in serviceable condition. Able to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with radiologists, providers, patients, computer technologists, and SEARHC staff.
