Position Information Position/Rank School of Dentistry - Pre‑Doctorate Director for Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics Department 01478 - SOD - EDUCATION City Salt Lake City, UT Track Track Dependent on Qualifications New Position to Begin As soon as possible Details School of Dentistry - Pre‑Doctorate Director for Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics The University of Utah School of Dentistry (UUSOD) seeks qualified candidates with the skills and interest in directing a pre-doctorate Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontic program. The UUSOD thrives on high-quality education and innovation while being committed to providing care to underserved populations across Utah. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: * Didactic, simulation, and clinical curriculum development that meet the programmatic requirements laid out by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) * Managing and attending pre-doctorate pediatric clinics, ensuring evidence-based care * Faculty recruitment, calibration, mentoring, and career development * Work collaboratively with all UUSOD sections, including conservation and restoration, prosthodontics, endodontics, oral pathology, OMFS, and periodontics Faculty will be hired at 0.5 -1.0 FTE in the career line clinical track at the rank of clinical line's instructor, assistant professor, associate professor, or professor. The candidate's experience and qualifications determine rank. The Section Head appointment is separate from the base faculty rank and will have a separate contract. Minimum Qualifications: * Possess a DDS, DMD, or equivalent degree and be eligible for an unrestricted dental license in Utah. Requirements for a Utah dental license are found on DOPL. * Completed an accredited advanced education program in Pediatric Dentistry Preferred Qualifications: * Board Certification * Background in teaching or higher education * Background in clinical practice The UUSOD has many opportunities for career advancement and leadership development.
