Employee performs school-based work to carry out Board of Education policies under the direction of the principalEssential FunctionsAdhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and proceduresMonitor behavior of elementary students during lunch periods and enforce cafeteria rulesAssist students with carrying lunch traysAssist students with opening lunch boxes, condiment packets, containers, drinks, etc.Assist students with cleaning area when finishedProvide reports to teachers or administrators as neededCreate an inclusive environment with positive communicationPerform related work as assigned or requiredKnowledge, Skills, AbilitiesSkilled in communication, both verbal and in writingAbility to enforce cafeteria rules and appropriate student behavioral standardsAbility to communicate effectivelyAbility to reason, make judgments, and maintain effective working relationshipsAbility to employ positive communication skills in all settings/mediumsAbility to take initiative, work independently, and exercise sound judgement Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredExperience working with elementary age children preferredEquivalent combination of education and experience# of Jobs 1.00 Teacher Scale N Minimum Educational Requirements HS diploma Term 9 Month Additional Job Information Special Requirements Possess and maintain a valid driver's license or ability to provide own transportation Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings Physical Requirements/Working Conditions Work environment is performed in a cafeteria setting and requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time Work requires frequent bending, squatting, reaching, with the ability to lift, carry, push or pull light weights Work requires the occasional exertion of up to ten pounds of force Work regularly requires exchange of accurate and detailed information through oral and written communication Visual acuity requires observing general surroundings and activities Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels, and to receive detailed information through oral communications Work occasionally requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions Work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g., cafeteria) Requires the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions Must be adaptable to performing under mild to high levels of stress Job Attachment View Attachment
