LLE was established in 1970 as a center for the investigation of the interaction of intense radiation with matter. The Facility Operations Division within LLE is seeking to fill a Section Leader role which oversees the Omega EP Experimental Operations team and diagnostic operations. A successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of technologies used to conduct experiments and leadership of a highly active work force. The experimental operations section is responsible for vacuum systems, mechanical assembly of diagnostics, and operation of custom process software to execute scientific campaigns. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS** + Support the operation of equipment and instrumentation for the OMEGA EP Experimental Operations section + Manage a team of engineers and technicians (Perform shift scheduling and direct weekly campaign execution tasks. Conducts performance appraisals) + Represent Experimental Operations at campaign planning meetings + Coordinate project task activities in the Experimental Operations areas. Oversee project planning and execution, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. Provide input to all system upgrade projects during design phases + Assist in the formulation of budgets and monitor expenditures in adherence to financial guidelines + Coordinate preventive maintenance + Review and Revision of processes and procedures + Stand watch at least once a week as Experimental Operations Operation and/or Experimental Operations Technician.
